Jin Uzuki – Stats in battle (Episode II)

Overview

Jin is definitely one of the physical fighters of your group, but has lower HP than other heavy hitters like Ziggy or KOS-MOS. On top of that, he has a lesser number of double attacks than other characters. His usefulness is not hindered by this at all though. After breaking an enemy, he sends them into the air (or attack enemies that have already been air’d), which will work great as a combo alongside Jr, MOMO or Shion. Some major boss battles he is useful in are Orgulla, Margulis and the Patriarch.

Ether and Skills recommended

Level 1

Blind guard, Attacker, Defender, STR+2, VIT+2, The “down” series of spells.

Level 4

Keep in mind these are only recommended – feel free to develop your characters anyway you see fit.

In the E.S.

When co-piloting the E.S. Asher, he brings the powerful ‘Wings of Light’ special attack with him (cost: 200 stock). This attack is a short range slash/aura attack that targets a single foe. He also adds the ‘Moonlight blade’ special attack (cost: 300 stock). This attack is a long range aura attack that targets all enemies. In Dinah, he adds ‘Twin Dragons’ and ‘Iron Blade.’ For 200 and 300 stock, respectively, they are both slash attacks, with Iron Blade having the aura attribute. In Zebulun, he adds the very useful ‘Golden bow’ for 200 stock. This long ranged aura attack hits a single target, but also rids the party of any status abnormalities. And for 300 stock, ‘AIRD’ is added to Zebulun’s arsenal (but that goes for every character).

Jin Uzuki – Stats in battle (episode III)

Jin returns to your party as another heavy hitting damage dealer. Throughout the game, Jin is sure to be one of your most damaging characters. He can dish out great deals of damage with regular attacks, as well as special attacks. The skills ‘skeletal slash’ and ‘armor pierce’ are learned early on, which gives him an advantage over Biological and Mechanical enemies. When he obtains the ‘twin dragon’ and ‘raging sea’ abilities, he is able to strike multiple enemies at once. On top of that, he manages to have higher evasion than most of the other party members, which  works well with his moderate vitality and hit points. As for his weaknesses, his ether defense isn’t exactly up to snuff and he has no attacks that will break an enemy (unless you want to use Erde Kaiser, which can be painful with his low ether points).

Special Attacks

Spark Waltz (2 boost) – Large physical attack that targets a single enemy.

Dragon Dance (3 boost) – Large physical attack that targets a single enemy and has the lightning attribute.

Lightning Waltz (4 boost) – Massive physical attack that targets a single enemy and has the lightning attribute.

Master Skills

Heaven’s Tracker (99 EP) – Always execute critical attacks. You can unlock this skill by completing the ‘Attacker’ series of skills.

Ghost Diver (99 EP) – Always execute counters. You can unlock this skill by completing the ‘Counter’ series of skills.

In the E.S. – E.S. Reuben

Jin pilots his E.S. On his own, with Canaan as support sometimes. Like Jin, Reuben is all about dealing damage. Almost all it’s weapons have a high EN cost and a few number of hits, but Reuben hits hard in these few hits. Invest in anything that will give Reuben more EN and always keep it up to date with it’s weapons, that plus taking advantage of the Co-op and Ambush attacks make this E.S. Frighteningly powerful. However, all of Reuben’s weapons are short range, which leaves it open to any enemy that it can’t take down in one hit. And those counters and revenges really start to add up after a while. It also seems that the stronger Reuben’s weapons get, the lower the accuracy they have, which may lead to the player ripping out their hair every time Reuben misses.

Special Attacks

Anima Awakening 1 – Iron Blade (physical/single enemy/medium attack)

Anima Awakening 2 – Garuda’s Wrath (Lightning/All enemies/large attack)

Anima Awakening 3 – Lotus Blades (Beam/single enemy/massive attack)

Jin Uzuki

Jin Uzuki served as a Captain in The Miltian Conflict, ranking directly under Margulis and was Pelligri’s commanding officer. During this time, he managed to steal a portion of the Y-data (which held details on the true nature of the Miltian Conflict) from Margulis. He elected to store the data inside of Canaan, citing that this would be “safer than just carrying it around.” He then leaves, saying there is somewhere else he must go. In episode III, we learned that he went to his mother’s hospital room to save his sister, Shion. His parents were already dead when he got there. Jin left the military not long after this. When we see him again fourteen years later in episode II, we see him running a used bookstore. Shion comments that he hasn’t ever been able to hold a steady job for longer than six months, and it is revealed that his last profession was a Doctor (which can be seen as one of his many homages to Citan Uzuki of Xenogears). It is suggested that he and Margulis have known each other for a long time, judging by the dialogue exchanged in their two battles in episode II.  Jin is a master swordsman. He wields a katana and is rarely seen without it in tow. It is known that both Jin and Margulis learned from the same master – Jin’s grandfather. They both are exceptional swordsmen, but Jin has Margulis beat when it comes to ether skills. At the end of Xenosaga II, Jin leaves on the Elsa, it was unknown at the time where he was headed.

Jin played a fairly big role in the events of A Missing Year. He worked with Shion to uncover the mystery of Lemegeton, which lead into Episode III. Now Jin has his own E.S., which faces battle with Margulis’ E.S. Levi on more than one occasion. His relationship with Shion still appears to be broken, but it is apparent that he cares for his sister dearly. In episode III, we see hints of a past romance with Pelligri, but it isn’t expanded upon much. Another interesting homage we see is his green attire, which is almost identical to Citan Uzuki’s.

In terms of personality, Jin is calm, cool and collected – especially in comparison to his hot headed sister. He is a skilled swordsman and has ether skills to be reckoned with.
