Hey, I just wanted to talk about how much I like the cutscenes and style of Xenosaga, especially Episode I. I love how so many cutscenes are conversations or just the characters interacting with each other. As an example, you have the cutscenes with the characters just eating together on the Elsa, and I just think those are really great. It lets the characters feel real, and at least I can feel more connected with them with all these cutscenes. It feels just like they have a real life, and Xenosaga is fantastic at implementing this. I could always rewatch these cutscenes without them getting repetitive. There are also so many emotional scenes. I could just list mostly all the cutscenes from the games as an example of this. One of my favorites is definitely the one where chaos is talking to KOS-MOS on the Elsa when she's sleeping. Not to forget, the games are fantastic at foreshadowing if you already know the whole story, and those cutscenes just get so much better when you know the meaning behind them. (The awesome music also just makes it better.) I could honestly talk forever about these games. I really love them, they mean so much to me!
So, what are some of your favorite cutscenes from the games? Is there maybe one you really can't forget, and you still think about it?

This is a great thread, thanks for posting!

I really need to revisit the games to answer this bc Xenosaga has so many great cutscenes, but I find the opening and closing portions of Xenosaga II to be really underrated and striking.

Any cutscene where Wilhelm pops up you know something is about to go down.

Also the one where KOS-MOS almost busts open the Elsa windows always makes me giggle.

Oh yeah, the opening and closing of Xenosaga II are so good. I don't think the beginning could've been much better. Regarding Episode II, I think the one cutscene with Juli and Ziggy, where they have their conversation in the U.M.N. control center, is also fantastic, not to mention the fantastic Jin and Margulis fights in Episode II.

In Episode III, I really love all the cutscenes with Virgil and Febronia, their whole story is also great.

And do I have to say anything about the whole great story with Andrew Cherenkov and his last cutscene?

I'm thinking about replaying the games this year. Hopefully, a remaster of the games will come out so that more people can experience them, would also be nice to experience them again in a better version!

Those are some of my favorite scenes as well. And I agree with your observation about the cutscenes with the characters casually interacting, particularly in Episode 1. I especially liked the dialogue between Ziggy and MOMO in a lot of those scenes. Another of my favorite moments was during the hyperspace battle before they're rescued by the Elsa, when Ziggy admits that they might not be able to survive and MOMO says she's scared but it's okay because they're together. I think it shows the trust and respect they have for each other even though they haven't known each other for very long, and I loved seeing that develop into a family relationship over the rest of the series.

The cutscenes and moments together with Ziggy and MOMO are really great, and yeah, their family relationship is fantastic. I like how Ziggy over the games wants to live longer for MOMO, and especially if you know the story of Pied Piper, it's really beautiful to see him develop like this over the games.
Ziggy's whole story in general is one of my favorites. It's a bit of a shame, that he hasn't gotten a lot of focus in the main games.

I really love his story too. I'd say he's probably my favorite fictional character of all time, honestly. I'm glad that there seems to be more interest in Pied Piper these days. When I first got into Xenosaga, it was really hard to find information about it, and I never would have imagined being able to watch an entire playthrough on YouTube like there is now.

On that note, and in keeping with the subject of this thread, I also thought the scenes with his flashbacks in Episode 1 and 2 were really powerful. I wish we could have seen a little more of that in 3, but I can't really complain when the entirety of Pied Piper exists. XD
