Hey all! I came across the site when doing some research on Xenosaga 1 datamining and reversing, and figure I'd stop by and say hello.

I'm a bit of a "new-age" Xeno fan. I started by way of Xenoblade, and swiftly fell in love with the blend of technological, mystical, and fantastical that Monolithsoft is so fond of. While I never felt the Blade series reached the heights established in the first entry, they all walk similar paths in themes and ideas and I got a decent bit out of them. Halfway through 2022, Xenoblade 3 obviously came out, and while I had ultimately lukewarm feelings on the game as a whole it certainly served to pique my curiosity, and I've found myself going through Monolith's entire backlog, from Xenogears up until now. While I plan to speak on that journey later, a little spoiler alert is that I found Xenogears to be just so damn good.

Outside of my clear fondness for JRPGs, I have pretty broad tastes in games I play-- always open to recommendations, too! The weirder and more experimental, the better.

I'm big into low-level tech and programming, especially reverse engineering. Like I mentioned up top, I wanted to do some work on Xenosaga 1 (namely extract assets and logic for Xeno Card), but haven't had the time to get to it yet. In the hardware realm, I love playing around with sensors and Arduinos to make some kind of thingamajig.

On the analogue end, I'm pretty big into making Gundam plastic models! As a Xeno- franchise fan it should come as no surprise that I am an avid lover of giant robots, so the prospect of making and customizing scale models of said robots is amazingly attractive.

Thanks for your time! Looking forward to hanging around the community.

Welcome! I'm glad you were able to find the site like that! We're definitely trying to preserve whatever we can! Most people around are pretty friendly and nice so don't be afraid to say hello even though we might not be the most active forum ever. I really only dabble in the plastic models myself.

Welcome. Despite big social media and Discord's best attempts to kill fan forums and fansites, there's still a few kicking around...

Have you looked into the original Phantasy Star JRPGs? 1, 2 and particularly 4 are great sci-fi fantasy JRPGs. I also have to recommend the .hack//IMOQ Quadrilogy, which has some of the best worldbuilding in the genre imo.
