I went to resources > assets and downloaded the xenoblade models from tomxie.
Unfortunately when I click the .max files and open it with 3ds max. I get error about missing dll vray vrender90.dll

Also the textuers and materials aren't showing. I am just trying to find a way to convert this for blender.
I want the environment and character models if possible.

Not sure if this helps or is close to what you're looking for, but The Models Resource has characters and objects from Xenoblade in .dae format, which I believe can be imported into Blender and/or converted into another Blender-compatible file format.

(I've had a little experience ripping models from Xenosaga for Blender. It's pretty labor-intensive but I'd consider putting together some sort of tutorial or answering questions if there's an interest. I'm afraid I'm clueless about everything after the PS2 era, though.)

dll vray vrender90.dll
This error is most likely caused by the V-ray renderer not being installed or damaged.

If the installation is normal, the only prompts when opening are "One or more objects are currently isolated" and "The model was browsed through a non-educational version."

If you use a higher version of V-ray and both operations are "OK", you can get a normal model.

I don't know much about converting it into a model that blender can recognize. I will help you ask friends who are familiar with this operation. Based on my experience in operating a full-color printer, I recommend converting it to obj+texture library+mtl. I believe there will be relevant tutorials online. If you have more questions, you can set up a conversation with me.
